When Alex Nemeroff, an art historian from Frankfurt University was asked about Helen Frankenthaler’s large abstract paintings, he answers this:

The impossible task for a painter is to “ get the life on the quick, life on the wing into the works of Art so that the works of Art don’t feel like a pale petrification of lived experience but you feel that you actually are in the presence/ the thick of life”.

This aim resonates completely with my pursuit as a painter and especially with my series “On Nature”. “Natural vigor” and “Nature’s desire to grow” are executed with large gestures before the organic becomes too decorative.

Using bright colors, I strive to reveal my joyful deference to the natural growth and its renewal. It is also my call as an artist to celebrate and defend the sacred place we can't survive without.
